Local Area

The motel is working-class residential and industrial suburb of Los Angeles, Pico Rivera. It shares the same lot with Washington Boulevard, a major thoroughfare lined with strip malls, auto repair shops, and restaurants. Not much of a tourist destination itself, its location works strategically well for driving distances. You are literally just minutes away from Citadel Outlets-yes behind that Assyrian style wall-huge shopping complex much frequented by bargain hunters sniffing out supposed ‘designer’ labels at discounts.

For nearby entertainment, the Commerce Casino is just a short drive offering card games and dining. The area surrounding the motel has classic Southern California fast food staples such as In-N-Out Burger, King Taco, and various 24-hour diners. This is not some leafy, pedestrian-friendly neighborhood; you’ll need a car to get anywhere significant. Speaking of major attractions, you’re roughly 20-30 minutes (without traffic) from Downtown Los Angeles and about 30-40 minutes from Disneyland in Anaheim. Call it central-if-gritty hub.
